The Smoothstone River is a tributary of Pinehouse Lake in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan .

The Smoothstone River has its origin in Wabeno Lake in the far north of Prince Albert National Park . It initially flows west through Lavallée Lake and Paquin Lake . It then turns north and flows into Clarke Lake . It flows over Little Clarke Lake to Smoothstone Lake , which it leaves on its north shore. It continues to flow north and takes in the tributaries Swan Creek and Dunbar Creek. Then the river turns to the northeast and flows through the two lakes Little Emmeline Lake and Emmeline Lake . The Smoothstone River then turns north. The Saskatchewan Highway 165 crosses the river. This now turns to the west, later to the northwest and finally flows into the Pinehouse Lake, through which the Churchill River flows. The Smoothstone River has a length of approximately 270 km. The mean discharge at the gauge below Emmeline Lake is 10 m³ / s.
