Now I Fall ( English for, now I fall ') is a song of the German synth pop - duo Wolfsheim . The track is the only single from their second studio album Popkiller .
Creation and artwork
The song was written by the two Wolfsheim members Peter Heppner and Markus Reinhardt. In collaboration with the producer team Nine-O-Nine ( Jose Alvarez-Brill , Gento Navaho and Carlos Perón ) they also produced the single. The piece was specially mastered under the direction of Carlos Perón. The single was released under the music label Strange Ways Records and distributed by Indigo . The recordings took place in the following recording studios: Recording and mixing in the Peron / Kostka Studio in Grafschaft and production in Musik Design in Aachen . On the very dark cover of the maxi single - next to the artist name and song title - a tree can be seen. The artwork comes from 4 = 1 (Society for the Development of Multimedia Software mbH).
Publication and promotion
The first publication of Now I Fall took place on August 30, 1993 in Germany. The track was released as a maxi single and a 12 " vinyl record . Both contain Now I Fall, the two B-sides Where Greed Talks and For You (instrumental) . Where Greed Talks is a re-release of the second Wolfsheim -Demo Any But Pretty , it was never released on an official album. For You (Instrumental) is an instrumental version of the song For You I'm Bleeding from the studio album Popkiller and should not be confused with the one later on the fourth Studio album Spectators released the song of the same name For You .

The lyrics to Now I Fall are in English; Translated into German, the title means “Now I'm falling”. The music and the text were written jointly by Peter Heppner and Markus Reinhardt. Musically, the song moves in the field of synth pop . The song is made up of two stanzas, it does not contain a real refrain . After the stanzas, some sentence fragments from the previous stanza are repeated in a faster form, this represents the refrain. The tempo is 126 beats per minute .
The song is about a failed love relationship in which a couple does not find the courage to draw a final line and instead continues a life or a relationship full of hate, disgust and sadness.

Music video
The music video for Now I Fall is shown in very pale colors for the most part. In the video you can see people who are involved like in a mummification . In addition, scenes of a couple arguing can be seen again and again. In between you can always see Heppner painting on a canvas . The arguing couple can be seen again and again on this canvas, which Heppner paints over with white paint. The total length of the video is 3:38 minutes. Directed by Ingo Ito and Susan Lee, the video was produced by Chopstick Films.

To date, the song has not been able to place in any official charts and exact sales figures are not known. The maxi single for Closer Still , released in 1995, includes Now I Fall (Factory Remix), a remix version made by Jose Alvarez-Brill .
