It's Hurting for the First Time ( English for, it is hurtful for the first time / first time ') is a song of the German synth pop - duo Wolfsheim . The piece is the second single from their fourth studio album Spectators and part of the soundtrack to Liebe Ihre Nachbar! .
Creation and artwork
The song was written by the two Wolfsheim members Peter Heppner and Markus Reinhardt. In collaboration with Jose Alvarez-Brill , the two also produced the single. The single was mastered in the Hamburg Master & Servant studio, under the direction of Tom Meyer. The song was released under the music labels Motor Music and Strange Ways Records and distributed by Hanseatic and Indigo . The recordings took place in the Belgian recording studio The Factory. On the black cover of the maxi single is - in addition to the artist name and song title - a screenshot from the movie Love Your Neighbor! to see. The cover picture was photographed by Joachim Berc, the artwork comes from Graphische Werken Ottensen.
Publication and promotion
The first release of It's Hurting for the First Time took place across Europe on 30 November 1998. The maxi-single includes not only the radio version of an instrumental of It's Hurting for the First Time , and a live recording of the piece real , as B-side . The live recording comes from a concert in Herford on August 24, 1998 and was recorded by Jürgen Jansen. It's Hurting for the First Time was used as the soundtrack for Detlev Buck's film Liebe Deine Nachbar! Applied.

Music video
The music video was filmed in Berlin and is a compilation of various scenes from the movie Love Your Neighbor! . In addition to the film scenes, short excerpts can be seen in which the two Wolfsheim members play the song on a set (homeless shelter) of the film. The total length is 3:12 minutes. As with the film , it was directed by Detlev Buck , the music video was produced by Boje Buck (a joint production company owned by Buck and Claus Boje ).
