Snežana Stamenković (born June 4, 1961 in Belgrade ) is an opera singer ( soprano ) and professor of singing .

Life

Born in Yugoslavia, Stamenković completed her vocal studies with Biserka Cvejić at the University of the Arts in Belgrade , where she then worked as an assistant for two years. Stamenković made his debut at the Belgrade National Opera in 1987 in the role of Susanna in a performance of “The Marriage of Figaro ”. As an active musician, she then won first prize at the Concours International de Chant Madame Mady Mesple in Nantes and the Prix ​​de la Federation Internationale des Organizations de Festivals for the interpretation of Mozart . From 1990 to 1992 she worked at the City Theater in Trier and between 1992 and 1997 at the City Theater in Bern . In the 1997/98 season she started working at the Opera House in Leipzig , where she sang mainly roles such as Micaela , Mimi , Tatjana , Pamina , Donna Elvira and Contessa . Since 2001 Stamenković has been a freelance singer and professor for singing at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Mannheim .
