The Snoqualmie National Forest is a national forest in Counties King , Snohomish , Pierce, and Kittitas in Washington state . It was designated on July 1, 1908, when an area of ​​over 3,800 km² was split off from the Washington National Forest . The area increased by a split from the Rainier National Forest on October 13, 1933. In 1974 the Snoqualmie National Forest was administratively united with the Mount Baker National Forest to the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest . Portions of the Snoqualmie National Forest are located in Counties King , Snohomish , Pierce, and Kittitas, in descending order . There are local ranger districts in North Bend and Skykomish . The main office is in Everett . As of September 30, 2007, the Snoqualmie National Forest has a size of 5,091.62 km², which corresponds to a share of 49 percent of the entire Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest.

Wilderness areas

There are seven officially designated wilderness areas within the Snoqualmie National Forest that are part of the United States' National Wilderness Preservation System . Two of them also extend into neighboring National Forests.
