Snubbin Island is an island off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . In the group of Pitt Islands belonging to the Biscoe Islands archipelago , it is 3 km west of Pickwick Island . Buzfuz Rock is 2 km west of Snubbin Island .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named them in 1959 after Mr. Serjeant Snubbin, a character from the serial novel The Pickwickier (1836-1837) by the British writer Charles Dickens .
