history

The company, which is listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange and based in Charlotte , North Carolina , was created in 2010 through the merger of the snack manufacturer Lance , which has existed since 1913, with Snyder's of Hanover from Hanover , Pennsylvania , which was founded in 1909 , making it the second largest savory biscuit manufacturer in the USA ( behind Frito-Lay ).

In 2012 Snyder's-Lance acquired Snack Factory for $ 340 million , and the following year at an undisclosed price, Massachusetts- based snack distributor Stateline Service Corporation .

In October 2015, an agreement was signed for the complete takeover of Diamond Foods for around 1.9 billion dollars including the debt of around 640 million dollars. The Californian manufacturer Diamond Foods , embroiled in a balance sheet scandal in 2012, is known for a range of snacks and nuts that partly dispense with genetic engineering and artificial ingredients and achieved sales of $ 854 million in the 2014/2015 financial year. The previous shareholders of Diamond Foods (the largest of which is the investment company Oaktree Capital ) will hold around 26% of Snyder's-Lance after the transaction is expected to be completed in spring 2016. The Kellogg Company had also shown interest in the takeover .

In March 2018, Snyder's-Lance was taken over by the Campbell Soup Company .
