Socorro is a former ( freguesia ) in the Portuguese district of Lisbon . It had 3,153 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
As the official result of an administrative reorganization of Lisbon on November 8, 2012, Socorro became part of the municipality of Santa Maria Maior . Historically and culturally notable in Socorro is the former Moorish quarter of Lisbon, the Mouraria .
