Sodiam SARL ( Portuguese : Sociedade de Comercialização de Diamantes de Angola ) is an Angolan company that is 99 percent owned by the Angolan state-owned mining company Endiama . It was founded in Luanda in 1999 . His main task is to commercialize the rough diamonds prospected in Angola and thus also responsible for marketing. It is also the official authority for issuing the Kimberley Process Certificates in Angola .

Sodiam has set up an office in Antwerp specifically for the trade in cut diamonds. The office is run as a joint venture with New York- based Lazare Kaplan International Inc., whose president Maurice Tempelsman was previously a partner in the diamond trade of Jonas Savimbi , leader of the Angolan rebel movement UNITA .

Another Sodiam office was opened earlier in collaboration with the Lev Leviev Group in Ramat Gan , Israel .
