Sofía Isabel Alonso Albrand (born February 17, 1992 ) is a Guatemalan athlete who specializes in throwing the javelin .

Athletic career

Sofía Alonso gained her first international experience in 2010 at the Central American Championships in Guatemala City , where she won the bronze medal behind the Nicaraguan Dalila Rugama and Lorena Medina from El Salvador with a width of 34.14 m . At the Central American Championships in 2014 in Tegucigalpa she won the silver medal behind Rugama with 38.44 m and in 2016 she won the bronze medal with a throw of 42.30 m, as well as at the 2017 Championships in Tegucigalpa with 40.90 m. At the subsequent Central American Games in Managua she also won the bronze medal with 41.80 m behind the Nicaraguan Rugama and Genova Arias from Costa Rica. In 2018 she won the bronze medal at the Central American Championships in Guatemala City with 41.98 m and then finished seventh at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla with 40.09 m.
