Sofia Essaïdi (born August 6, 1984 in Casablanca ) is a French - Moroccan singer and actress .

Life

Essaïdi works as a singer and actress as well as a composer, author, piano player and percussionist.

From August 30 to December 12, 2003, she took part in the Star Academy casting show on the French TV channel TF1 . Her first album was released in August 2005. It contains collaborations with several artists, such as Quentin Bachelet (realization and music) and Chet (text). An album that was highly acclaimed by critics and audiences in France alike.

From January 2009 to January 2010 she played the leading role in the musical Cléopâtre , and in 2009 she also took on the leading role in the television film Aïcha.

With her colleagues on the stage at Cléopâtre, she was honored as "Groupe / Duo / Troupe français de l'année" at the NRJ Music Awards in 2009, and in 2010 she won the NRJ Award as French Artist of the Year (Artiste feminine française de l ' année).

In 2011 he took part in the first season of the dance show Danse avec les stars and reached second place.
