Sofija Daubaraitė

Sofija Daubaraitė (born January 29, 1951 in Telšiai ) is a Lithuanian conservative politician and journalist .

Life

After graduating from Žemaitė Middle School in 1968 , she studied at Vilniaus universitetas (VU) from 1969 . In 1976 she completed her diploma in Lithuanian language and literature at the Philology Faculty of VU. Then she studied journalism . From 1980 to 1982 she trained as a photographer at the 47th Vilnius Technical School . From 1976 she worked as a teacher in the Ignalina district , from 1977 to 1980 at the Lietuvos mokslų akademija Institute of Lituanistics , from 1982 to 1991 for the Draugystė newspaper, and from 1991 to 1996 for the Vilnia newspaper . From 1995 to 1997 she was a member of the council of the Vilnius district council and from 1996 to 2000 a member of the Seimas . From 2001 she taught at the Lietuvos teisės universitetas .

From 1989 she was a member of Sąjūdis , from 1994 of Tėvynės Sąjunga .

She has a daughter.
