Solna Vikings is a Swedish basketball club from Solna .

history

Solna IF was founded in 1959 . After the club, up to then four times Swedish champions, went bankrupt, the Solna Vikings, founded in 1999, inherited the right to start in the highest Swedish basketball league and have been playing in it since the 2000/01 season. In the first two years, the team was still too bad and did not reach the play-offs.

In the 2002/03 season, the team increased significantly, was sovereign first in the main round, then marched through the play-offs, at the end of which a 3-1 win over Plannja Basket was achieved. The Vikings were champions for the first time.

After the quarter-finals and the semi-finals were over in the following two seasons, they reached the final again in 2006. Again, Plannja Basket was the opponent. This time Solna had no chance and lost the series 1: 4. In 2008 he won the second championship. Against the Sundsvall Dragons they prevailed 3-1 in the final series. The following year Sundsvall retaliated and won the new edition of the final of 2008. The Vikings did not find their way back to their old strength. If you made it to the semi-finals in 2010, you ended up in the quarter-finals in 2011 and 2012 after each of the poor main rounds.
