Yasin Red Djilali-Merzoug (born January 15, 1979 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish basketball player.
Career
The 1.83 m tall playmaker most recently played in Finland for Lappeenrannan NMKY . There he celebrated great success, so Merzoug could win the championship and the Finnish Cup there. In the cup final he also received the award for “ Most Valuable Player ” and was able to set a new Swedish national record in the championship final with eight successful three-point throws in one game. During his first international stint in the 2005/06 season he reached the Final Four tournament in the fourth-class European club competition FIBA EuroCup Challenge with the Finnish club from Lappeenranta . The following season he played in the 2nd Bundesliga 2006/07 for the second division promoted SVD 49 Dortmund . The former first division had to relegate at the end of the season as the bottom of the table and Merzoug returned to his Swedish homeland.
