Mats Levin

Mats Ragnar Levin (born June 15, 1977 in Nacka ) is a former Swedish basketball player .

Life

Levin played for the first division Solna IF in his home country Sweden until 1999 , his first position abroad was the German Bundesliga club TSK Universa Bamberg , for which he scored an average of 8.1 points per match in the 1999/2000 season. During the summer break of 2000, the nearly 1.90 meter tall player moved to Suba St. Pölten in Austria's Bundesliga . In 2001/02 he was back in Germany for Brandt Hagen  .

About the intermediate stop Bignami Castelmaggiore (2002/03 season) in the second Italian division Levin landed in 2003 with Oregon Cantù in the top division of Italy and stayed there for a year. At Cantù he remained a supplementary player, while he was given more responsibility in the 2004/05 season at the French second division team JSF Nanterre and scored an average of 11.3 points and prepared 4.4 basket successes of his companions.

In 2005/06 he played at Upea Capo D'Orlando in Italy's first division, but played only a minor role there. At the beginning of the 2006/07 game year he was briefly under contract in his home country with Solna IF (19.9 points / game in seven missions), but then went back to Italy for the second division club Castelletto Ticino. With Cimberio Aironi Novara and Edimes Pavia further stations in this division followed.

In the game year 2008/09 he played 19 games for Solna IF and came to 11.1 points and 4.3 assists per match. After he was under contract with the Sundsvall Dragons in Sweden at the beginning of the 2009/10 season, he then moved back to the second Italian division, where Levin played in the second half of the 2009/10 season and then from 2010 to 2012 at Scafati Basket Contract stood. In Scafati he was team captain.

At the end of his career he joined Solna IF again and brought his vast experience as a playmaker and captain to the table. In March 2014, he retired due to a knee injury.

National team

Levin made 134 international appearances for Sweden and was temporarily team captain. In 2003 he took part in the European Championship.
