Das Stacheltier: Krawatzke zur Kur is a black and white German satirical short fiction film from the DEFA studio for fiction films by Hans Dieter Mäde from 1959 .

action

Krawatzke goes to the mountains for a cure , to the beautiful town of Bad Herzbruch. Here he sits on the open-air terrace in a HO Kurcafe to enjoy a vodka with nice light music , while the gentleman at the next table lets the waitress bring him a tea. In order to start a conversation with the neighbor, Krawatzke begins to praise the beauty and advantages of the place and compares the stay with a summer vacation. He proudly tells us that this is the sixth time he has been to Bad Herzbruch for a cure because he has an internal ailment with a stiff heart. The neighbour's answer that it may be due to too much liquid is what Krawatzke takes as an opportunity to sit down at his table and confirm that his family doctor agrees, which is why he does not even drink the prescribed well water here.

And that's when he really gets going with his stories. He also does not swallow the three roll tablets that he receives every other day for shock therapy , but sends them home to his wife. Because during this therapy all alcohol is forbidden and without alcohol the cure is completely pointless. Then he also shows the recipes for the various applications, which he does not redeem. He doesn't like the hot mud packs on his naked body at all, and he doesn't like the tingling sensation of the carbonated bath either, but he quickly orders a double vodka from the waitress.

In addition, he has no time for the medical treatments, because he has been followed by a cure shadow for some time . When his interlocutor pointed out that he could never get well this way, Krawatzke replied with his own recipe. That means always keeping the golden mean so that he is prescribed a cure every year, so never leave seriously ill and never come back completely healthy. This saying leads the neighbors to the conclusion that the doctors still have a lot to learn and when they say goodbye, he poses as Dr. Großmann, chief physician at the spa clinic, suggests what Krawatzke thinks about.
