Gerd Ehlers

Gerd Ehlers , actually Gerd Szczerbicki , (born May 21, 1924 in Reinfeld , † June 27, 1988 in East Berlin ) was a German actor .

Life

After Ehlers gained experience as an actor on a traveling stage during the Second World War , he began an artistic career as a stage actor in Magdeburg after the end of the war . After further stints at stages in Wuppertal , Bremen , Hamburg , Basel and Rostock , he got a multi-year job at the Maxim-Gorki-Theater in East Berlin in 1958 , where he achieved his final artistic breakthrough.

In numerous film and television productions, such as the title character in the television play Der Tag des Ludger Snoerrebrod as well as in some Stingeltier short films, Ehlers was able to successfully display his comedic talent.

Health impaired, he devoted himself in later years to work for radio in the GDR and as a voice actor .

He moderated the first episodes of the GDR television entertainment program There is music in it .

Ehler's grave is located in the Grünau forest cemetery in Berlin-Köpenick .
