Fritz Bornemann (director)

Fritz Bornemann (born February 16, 1929 , † November 4, 2005 ) was a German director and actor .

Life

Fritz Bornemann worked as a young theater actor in Göttingen and Wolfenbüttel at the end of the 1940s, and came into contact with the FDJ and the KPD through the writer Werner Ilberg . In 1951 he moved to the GDR for political reasons.

He first went to Staßfurt as a director . He then took on an assistant position at Maxim Vallentin at the Maxim-Gorki-Theater in Berlin . From 1955 Fritz Bornemann then also worked for German television broadcasting . From 1963 to 1968 he worked at the Volksbühne Berlin , until Albert Hetterle signed him up to the Maxim-Gorki-Theater as senior director with effect from May 1, 1969. Here he left in August 1972 as director and deputy director to return to television.

Fritz Bornemann was married to the actress Gisela Rimpler .
