action

Since this is a theatrical production, see: Vaněk trilogy .

production

The dramaturgy was in the hands of Alfried Nehring .

The first broadcast of the recording, created in color, took place on May 4, 1991 as a pre-premiere on the TV channel 1 PLUS , while the actual first broadcast took place on May 9, 1991 on ARD on the occasion of the award of the Charlemagne Prize of the city of Aachen to Václav Havel . The director Fritz Bornemann had previously sent the Czech president and poet a video cassette of the film to the Prague Castle and received in response that he felt very honored and that he agreed to this adaptation of his plays. Even the cuts, which were due to the length in the television format, did not bother the author.
