Solomon Weniaminowitsch Schereschewski
Solomon Weniaminowitsch Schereschewski ( Russian Соломон Вениаминович Шерешевский ; * 1886 ; † 1958 ) was a Russian journalist and memory artist , who became known in the 1920s.
For decades he took part in memory studies, mainly with the neuropsychologist Alexander Romanowitsch Lurija . In 1965 he published a case study on his 30-year regular experiments with Schereschewski, which appeared in English translation in 1968 and was also translated into German under the title Small portrait of a large memory . It is considered the template for the character of "Asano" in the film Away with Words by Christopher Doyle .
Peter Brook staged an adaptation of the biography in Paris.
