Soltan Hacibəyov

Soltan Ismail oğlu Hacıbəyov (also Soltan Hacibeyov ; Russian Солтан Гаджибеков , Soltan Gajibekow ; born May 8, 1919 in Şuşa ; † September 19, 1974 in Baku ) was an Azerbaijani composer.

Hacibeyov studied music in Baku and then worked as a teacher, professor (from 1965) and rector (1969–1974) at the conservatory of his uncle Useir Hacibeyov . From 1955 to 1962 he was also director of the Azerbaijani Philharmonic. He composed an operetta , a ballet , two symphonies , a symphonic picture, a violin and an orchestral concert, a string quartet , a cantata , piano pieces, songs , stage and film music.
