Solveig Pedersen (born September 6, 1965 in Kristiansand as Solveig Pettersen ) is a former Norwegian cross-country skier .

Career

Pedersen, who started for the Oddersjaa ski, had her first international success at the Junior World Ski Championships in 1983 in Kuopio . There she won the silver medal with the relay. She ran her first of 26 individual World Cup races in February 1986 in Oberstdorf , which she finished in ninth place. In March 1986 she won in Lahti with the relay. In March 1988, she was Falun third in the season. In the 1989/90 season she achieved 12th place in the overall World Cup with four top ten placements. In addition, she won in Lahti with the relay and Örnsköldsvik came in second place with the relay. In the following season she came in the World Cup singles, six times in the top ten. In Klingenthal she achieved her only podium place in the World Cup singles with third place over 15 km. At the season highlight, the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1991 in Fiemme Valley , she won the bronze medal with the relay. In the individual races she took 20th place over 30 km freestyle, eighth place over 5 km classic and fourth place over 15 km classic. In March 1991, she triumphed in Oslo with the relay and took second place in Falun with the relay. She finished the season in tenth place in the overall World Cup. The following year she won the silver medal with the relay at the Winter Olympics in Albertville . In addition, she ran there on the 20th place over 15 km classic, on the 15th place in the pursuit race and on the eighth place over 5 km classic. In March 1992 she won the relay in Funäsdalen and ran her last World Cup race in Vang , which she finished with 17th place over 15 km freestyle.

At Norwegian championships Pedersen came second four times and third four times.
