Someday's Dreamers ( Japanese 魔法 遣 い に 大 切 な こ と Mahō Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto , dt. "What is important to a magician") is a manga series written by Norie Yamada and illustrated by Kumichi Yoshizuki . It first appeared in May 2002 within Comic Dragon magazine , which was published by Kadokawa Shoten .

The same author couple used this manga series as the basis for two further manga series. Building on the first manga, a follow-up was published in 2004 with the title Der Weg von Sonne und Wind . Again building on the second manga series, another sequel appeared with the title Mahō Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto - Natsu no Sora in 2008.

The first and third manga series were adapted as an anime television series in 2003 and 2008 by the studios Viewworks / JCStaff and Hal Film Maker .

action

It depicts the adventures of 17-year-old magically gifted Yume Kikuchi, who travels to Tokyo to begin her magic training. However, they do not have to hide for this; their abilities are recognized by society and are used for various tasks and services. However, the magic is also under state control, which is intended to prevent abuse of the skills.

The girl Yume wants to become a state-approved sorceress. The job of wizards is to grant the wishes of their clients. In doing so, Yume has to recognize that the apparently direct path is not always the right one and that one has to work not only with the mind, but above all with the heart. Fortunately, however, the instructor Masami Oyamada is always at her side.

In the course of her training, she fulfills, among other things, the wish of a leg amputee for a soccer match, or picnics with a teacher and his students on the moon. But she also experiences sad moments, for example when she fulfills a dying woman's last wish to see her daughter who died in a car accident again. She takes the latter experience with her in such a way that she even toyed with the idea of giving up magic. But her trainer Oyamada also had a painful experience in the past that made him despair of the magic.
