Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin ( SSLYBY ) is an American indie rock band from Springfield, Missouri .

history

The members of SSLYBY met in high school . They wanted to make it into the local band compartment of the local record store and began rehearsing and recording with little capital.

The first published album Broom was self-published, but still received good reviews. So the band found their way to some smaller stages in the USA, which made record companies aware of SSLYBY and the album, now published by Polyvinyl Records , was finally released in Europe. This was followed by appearances in Europe, such as in June 2007 at the Immergut Festival in Neustrelitz.

Naming

The band is named after the first President of Russia , Boris Yeltsin . Singer Philip Dickey got the idea for the band name spontaneously while shopping. There was no problem with the name, as SSLYBY did not want to conquer Russia. However, the unconventional name also contributed to the success and the band became known beyond their national borders.
