Somita is a town in the West African state of Gambia .
According to a calculation for 2013, about 2,946 inhabitants live there, the result of the last published census from 1993 was 1,818.
geography
Somita, in the West Coast Region , Foni Brefet District , is about 43 kilometers east of Brikama and about twelve kilometers west of Sibanor . The city is on the South Bank Road , Gambia's main highway.
