The Songköl ( Kyrgyz Соңкөл ; also Kökdscherty (Көкджерты)) is a right tributary of the Naryn in the Kyrgyz Naryn region .
The Songköl forms the outflow of the Lake Songköl of the same name , which it leaves at its southeastern end. The river breaks through the mountains between the Songköl and Naryn lowlands . It has a gradient of around 1160 m over a length of 62 km. It finally flows 30 km west of the regional capital Naryn on the right side into the Naryn River flowing west.
The Songköl is a whitewater river that can be navigated in 2-4 days. However, it does not have sufficient water flow for larger rafting rafts. The best conditions for white water rafting are usually August and September.
The road over the Terskej Torpok pass (with 28 hairpin bends) leads along the course of the river for a while.
On the left bank of the river lies the Karatal-Japyryk nature reserve (Кара-Тал-Жапырык).
