Songshan Zhongyue Miao , the Zhongyue Temple in the Songshan Mountains or Temple of the Middle Summit ( Chinese  嵩山 中嶽廟  /  嵩山 中岳庙 , Pinyin Sōngshān Zhōngyuè Miào ) is a Daoist temple in the Songshan Mountains ( Song Shan ) in the area of Dengfeng in the Chinese province of Henan . The temple is in the neighborhood of Kaifeng , the ancient capital of the Song Dynasty , and was visited by the emperor of the Northern Song Dynasty . The temple dates back to the Qin Dynasty . Its main hall dates from 1653 during the Qing Dynasty . It is also on the list of the 21 most important Daoist temples of the Chinese State Council.

Zhongyue Temple has been on the List of Monuments of the People's Republic of China (5-357) since 2001 and on the UNESCO World Heritage List as part of Dengfeng Historical Monuments since 2010 .
