Dengfeng

The city of Dengfeng ( Chinese  登封 市 , Pinyin Dēngfēng Shì ) is an independent city in the administrative area of ​​the independent city ​​of Zhengzhou , Henan Province , People's Republic of China . It has an area of ​​1,220 km² and has a population of 630,000.

In the area of ​​Dengfeng lies the sacred mountain Song Shan . On top of it is the Zhongyue Temple , which has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China since 2001. The famous Gaocheng Observatory is located in Gaocheng near Dengfeng . The historical monuments of Dengfeng (8 clusters in total) have been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2010 .
