The city of Gongyi ( Chinese  巩义 市 , Pinyin Gǒngyì Shì ) is a county-level city in the administrative area of ​​the prefecture -level city of Zhengzhou , Henan Province , People's Republic of China . It has an area of ​​1,041 km² and has 790,000 inhabitants (2002).

The Gongxian Grottoes , the imperial tombs of the Song Dynasty , the site of Gongyi - ceramic kiln and the residence of Kang Baiwan are on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China .

Administrative structure
