Xinzheng

Xinzheng ( Chinese  新鄭 市  /  新郑 市 , Pinyin Xīnzhèng Shì ) is an independent city in the central Chinese province of Henan . It belongs to the administrative area of ​​the prefecture-level city of Zhengzhou . Xinzheng has an area of ​​873 km² and has a population of 630,000 (end of 2005).

history

Xinzheng is considered to be the place of origin of the Han Chinese . It was the headquarters of the Qin Dynasty from 221 BC, which is the beginning of a united China . The word Qín ​​( 秦 ) is believed to be the origin of the name "China".

Xinzheng is also the birthplace of Bai Juyi , a poet of the Tang Dynasty .

education

In Xinzheng, most of the people's republic's foreign teachers are at Sias International University . The university has 14,000 students and 90 foreign teachers.

Dragon

The construction of a 29.9 m high and 21 km long marble - and concrete - Dragon was from 2002 by private investors near the town on a ridge of Shizu Mountain begun.
