Xingyang ( Chinese 荥阳市 , Pinyin Xíngyáng Shì ) is an independent city in the administrative area of the independent city of Zhengzhou , Henan Province , People's Republic of China . Xingyang has an area of 955 km² and a population of 650,000.
The paleolithic Zhijidong site (Zhijidong yizhi 织机 洞 遗址) and the site of the ancient city of Dashigu (Dashigu chengzhi 大师 姑 城 址) from the time of the Xia dynasty , middle and late Erlitou culture have been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China .
