Sonja Fielitz

Sonja Fielitz (born May 4, 1962 in Munich ) is a German English studies professor at the Philipps University of Marburg .

Life

In 1992 Fielitz received his doctorate from the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich with a thesis on Shakespeare's Timon of Athens . She published her habilitation in January 2000 on the reception of Ovid's Metamorphoses in England between 1660 and 1800. From 2002, she was professor at the University of Göttingen and Münster . Fielitz has been Professor of English Literature in Marburg since October 2005 and has also been Dean of the Department of Foreign Language Philologies since 2008. Fielitz's research focuses on English literature from the 16th to 18th centuries, particularly the work of William Shakespeare .
