Sonja Lehmann

Sonja Lehmann (born September 13, 1979 in Berlin , after marriage to Sonja Dittbrenner ) is a former German hockey player , she won the Olympic gold medal in 2004.

Sonja Lehmann played for TuS Lichterfelde Berlin , where she was the storm leader. In 2004 the national coach nominated a team from the second row for the European Indoor Championships so that the first team could concentrate on the Olympic Games. Sonja Lehmann became European indoor champion with this substitute team. In the further course of the season she was able to play herself in the foreground so that she appointed coach Markus Weise to the Olympic squad. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens , Sonja Lehmann was in all six games, in the final the German women won 2-1 over the Netherlands. After several years of international break, Sonja Lehmann returned to the national team in January 2008 for the European indoor hockey championship and won the title again. Sonja Lehmann played a total of 38 international matches, 10 of them indoors.

In summer 2008 Sonja Lehmann married the hockey player Bastian Dittbrenner. Sonja Dittbrenner is a doctor in Berlin.
