Sony World Photography Awards

The Sony World Photography Awards have been presented annually by the World Photography Organization since 2008 in the Professional , Youth , 3D , Student , National and Open competitions as an award for outstanding photographs . The namesake sponsor is the Japanese electronics company Sony . The winning works will be exhibited at Somerset House in London after the winners have been announced .

Conditions of participation

Participation is free and is open to anyone interested. However, those who register images in the Professional competition are excluded from parallel participation in the Open competition and vice versa. Those applying for the Youth competition are not allowed to submit photos in Professional or Open at the same time .

In 2013, a total of more than 120,000 photos were submitted for evaluation. Of these, 63,000 were in the professional, 55,000 in the amateur and around 5,000 in the youth sector.
