Sophie Maierhofer (born August 9, 1996 in Graz ) is an Austrian soccer player .

Career

societies

Maierhofer made her first appearances in the ÖFB Ladies Cup for LUV Graz in spring 2011 and made her debut in the ÖFB Bundesliga in August 2011 shortly after her 15th birthday . In the following three seasons she was a regular starter in Graz and played 57 of 58 league games. In the summer of 2014 she moved to the reigning cup winner FSK St. Pölten , with whom she won the championship and cup double in 2014/15. For the 2015/16 season Maierhofer signed a contract with Werder Bremen , who were promoted to the German Bundesliga , for whom she made her debut on October 4, 2015 (4th match day) in the 2-0 home defeat against Bayern Munich .

National team

The defender played a total of 38 games for the U-17 and U-19 national teams, including nine as part of the qualification for the U-17 European Championship and twelve qualifying games for the U-19 European Championship . On February 10, 2015, she played for the senior national team for the first time in the friendly against the Spanish selection and scored her first goal in this game with the goal to make it 2-2. In March 2016 she won the Cyprus Cup with the team .
