Eurosiden I
Order : Rose-like (rosales)
Family : Rose family (Rosaceae)
Sub tribus : Pome fruit family (Pyrinae)
Genre : White berries ( sorbus )
without rank: Sorbus hybrida group
Scientific name
Sorbus hybrida agg.

The Sorbus hybrida group , also known as the hybridogenic subgenus Soraria Májovský et Bernátová according to a new classification, also called hybrid rowan berries , comprises hybrids between the species of the Sorbus aria complex and Sorbus aucuparia .

Sennikov and Kurtto have been running the plant genus under the name Hedlundia since 2017 .

features

The species are medium-sized trees. Its bark is gray and smooth, it resembles that of Sorbus aucuparia . The shape of the leaves is between those of Sorbus aucuparia with their feathering and those of Sorbus aria sl, which are unlobed or only slightly lobed and gray-tomentose underneath.

Sorbus × pinnatifida , the primary (diploid) hybrid, can look very different from plant to plant . There are then different Nothomorphs (Notho varieties). Depending on the clan, there are one or more pairs of leaflets or the leaves are at least deeply incised.

Bastard shapes

In Europe, but also especially in Germany (Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg), there are some fixed species. The following whitebeams belong to this complex:

  • Austrian whitebeam ( Sorbus austriaca (G.Beck) Hedl.)
  • Gauckler's whitebeam ( Sorbus gauckleri N. Mey.)
  • Harz 'whitebeam ( Sorbus harziana N. Mey.)
  • Hohenester's whitebeam ( Sorbus Hohenesteri N. Mey.)
  • Lonetal whitebeam ( Sorbus lonetalensis S. Hammel & Haynold)
  • Vosges whitebeam ( Sorbus mougeotii Soy.-Will. & Godr.)
  • Hersbruck whitebeam ( Sorbus pseudothuringiaca Düll)
  • Gößweinsteiner whitebeam ( Sorbus pulchra N. Mey.)
  • Black whitebeam ( Sorbus schwarziana N. Mey.)

Occurrence

The species of the Sorbus hybrida agg. Group occur individually between the two parent species, especially in the area where the areas overlap. The constant species can sometimes be found in fairly large areas, on the area boundary or outside the current area of the parent species.
