Sound Juicer is a free CD ripper for Unix-like systems, so it extracts music from audio CDs and converts them into popular audio formats . The extraction, also Digital Audio Extraction called, happens with the help of cdparanoia - library , the conversion is performed through the GStreamer module and thus supports z. B. MP3 , Ogg-Vorbis and FLAC as output formats.
Sound Juicer is designed to be easy to use and reduce the hassle of ripping CDs. For example, the Sound Juicer can automatically download the track information when connected to the Internet (through MusicBrainz ). It is also a free and open source program and is an official part of the Gnome desktop environment, from version 2.10.
