The South Georgia Wildcats were an arena football team from Albany, Georgia that played in af2 . The franchise was founded in 2002 as Cape Fear Wildcats .

Cape Fear Wildcats (2002-2004)
The franchise was founded in 2002 as Cape Fear Wildcats in Fayetteville, North Carolina and started in the af2 season in 2002. The owner was Roddy Jones , who was previously the team manager of the Carolina Cobras .
The playoffs were reached in all three seasons. Overall, the Wildcats were able to win 38 of 54 games in these years and achieved an average attendance of 4,635 per home game. Biggest success was the entry into the semifinals of the Arena Bowl in 2002, which, however, with 23:43 against the Florida Firecats was lost.
South Georgia Wildcats (2005-2009)
For the 2005 season, the franchise moved to Albany, Georgia . The team name "Wildcats" was retained. After they had only 6 wins and 26 defeats in the first two seasons and only won three home games, the Wildcats then moved into the playoffs every year. They were not allowed to participate in the ArenaCup.
After the af2 was dissolved at the end of the 2009 season, the Wildcats franchise also dissolved.
