The South Molton Rural District was a rural district in the English county of Devon .

history

On April 1, 1966, two acres (approx. 8,094 ) from the parish of East Ansley ( Dulverton Rural District ) and an acre (approx. 4,047 m²) from the parish of Brushford (also Dulverton Rural District) were added. On April 1, 1967, the South Molton Municipal Borough was dissolved and incorporated into this district. With the Local Government Act 1972 , which came into force on April 1, 1974, the district was dissolved and part of the new District North Devon . In 1911 it had an area of ​​117,432 Statute Acres (approx. 475.23 km² ).
