The Barnstaple Rural District was a rural district in the English county of Devon .

history

The district was created by the Local Government Act 1894 . On April 1, 1935, 329 acres (approximately 1.33 km²) moved from the parish of Countisbury in the Barnstaple Rural District to the parishes of Lynton in the Lynton Urban District . With the Local Government Act 1972 , which came into force on April 1, 1974, the district was dissolved and part of the new District North Devon . In 1911 the district had an area of ​​129,768 statute acres (approx. 525.15 km² ).
