South Taranaki Bight
The South Taranaki Bight is a large bay that extends in the southern and eastern coastal area of the Taranaki region on the North Island of New Zealand . The opposite is the North Taranaki Bight north of Cape Egmont .
The size of the bay is indicated differently. In a narrow sense, it extends from the mouth of the Kaupokonui Stream in the southern part of the Taranaki region to the mouth of the Patea River . In the further Sine, the entire west coast of the southern part of the North Island to Waikanae on the Kapiti Coast is added.
