Southwold Y Station
Southwold Y station was during the Second World War, a military base of the British Royal Navy (RN) ( Royal Navy ). It was near Easton Bavents near the eastern English port city of Southwold and thus not far from the most eastern part of the United Kingdom . An important listening point for the British secret service was located here .
history
During the war, the RN confiscated a suitable high-rise building near the coast, installed the necessary antenna technology and equipped the Y station with the appropriate receiver technology. Wren , women in the Royal Navy, served as radio eavesdropping specialists.
