Social court for the Saarland
The social court for the Saarland is a German court of the social justice system of the Saarland founded on January 1st, 1959 . It is the only social court in the country.
Seat and District of the Court
The court has its seat in the city of Saarbrücken .
The judicial district covers the entire area of the state. It thus covers an area of around 2571 km 2 with a population of around 995,000 (as of September 30, 2017).
Courthouse
The court is housed together with the Regional Social Court in a building at Egon-Reinert-Straße 4-6 .
Superior courts
The regional social court for the Saarland is superordinate to the social court . The Federal Social Court with its seat in Kassel is superordinate to this.
