The SpVgg Erle 19 (officially: Sportvereinigung Erle 19 eV ) is a sports club from the Gelsenkirchen district of Erle . The first soccer team played a year in the highest Westphalian amateur league.

history

The association was founded in 1919. In 1950 the footballers were promoted to the district class. After relegation in 1953, he was immediately promoted again, followed by the march through to the state league , which was the highest amateur league in Westphalia at the time. Although the Erler were knocked-off bottom of the table in the 1955/56 season , they benefited from the fact that relegation was suspended in the course of the introduction of the Westphalia Association in the State League. In the following season 1956/57 the league could be secured after a show of strength.

The Erler ended the season tied with Prussians Lengerich and Borussia Rheine . After the scheduled relegation round, Erle and Lengerich were tied. Erler won the deciding game in neutral Dülmen 4-0. Two years later, the team was relegated to the district class. At MBV Linden 05 the Erler lost 0:10, at TB Eickel even 0:12. In the following season 1959/60 the sports association was passed through to the district class and disappeared in the lower divisions. In 2014, the Erler barely missed promotion to the district league. After the team had lost the final of the district championship against Prussia Gladbeck , Erle failed in the playoffs against SV Hochlar 28 due to the away goals rule . In 2020, the Erler rose to the district league.
