The MBV Linden 05 (officially: Märkischer Ballspielverein Linden 05 eV ) was a sports club from the Bochum district of Linden . The first soccer team played a year in the highest Westphalian amateur league.

history

The association was founded in 1905. In 1920, the footballers were promoted to the then first-class Hellweg district league and were promptly runner-up, one point behind the Dortmund SC 95 . In the following years, the team fell back into midfield, before another runner -up came out in 1929 behind Black and White Essen . Three years later, the MBV was runner-up behind Germania Bochum for the third time . In 1933 the club missed the newly created Gauliga Westphalia . In the years 1934, 1937 and 1939 the Lindener reached the promotion round to the Gauliga, but failed in every attempt.

After the end of the Second World War , the MBV was promoted to the state league in 1953 , at that time the highest Westphalian amateur league. After only one season, the team had to be relegated again as third from bottom. After a runner-up in the district class in 1957 behind Schwarz-Weiß Eppendorf , he was promoted back to the state league a year later. In 1959 Otto Keller completed an assignment as an amateur national player . Three years later, the MBV was runner-up in the regional league behind SV Langendreer 04 . Until 1969 the Lindener could hold in the state league, before it went back to the district league.

In 1972 the MBV Linden 05 merged with the SC Dahlhausen to form SG Bochum-Süd . In 1997, SG Bochum-Süd merged again with VfB Linden, founded in 1953, to form today's SG Linden-Dahlhausen . This club was promptly relegated from the regional league and made direct resurgence. In 2002 the SG Linden-Dahlhausen rose again and slipped down to the district league B until 2007. After an ascent in 2010 and six years at Kreisliga A, relegation followed in 2016.
