The Sparkasse Kiel was a public-law savings bank based in Kiel . Before it merged to form Förde Sparkasse, it was the oldest Sparkasse in Schleswig-Holstein . Their business area was the city of Kiel.

history

In 1796, the Kieler Spar- und Leihkasse was founded by the Society of Voluntary Poor Friends . The head office was at Kleiner Kiel . This was the forerunner organization of the Sparkasse Kiel.

The Sparkasse Eckernförde , the Sparkasse Kiel and the Sparkasse Kreis Plön merged with effect from January 1, 2007 to form the Förde Sparkasse . Before its merger, Sparkasse Kiel was ranked 83rd out of a total of 457 savings banks in the 2006 Sparkasse ranking list with total assets of 3.21 billion euros, 758 employees and 28 branches. It was a member of the Sparkassen- und Giroverband für Schleswig-Holstein .
