The Sparkasse Passau is a public savings bank based in Passau in Bavaria . Its business area extends to the city of Passau and the district of Passau .

history

The Sparkasse Passau was created in the course of the territorial reform in 1972 through the merger of the Kreissparkasse Passau-Wegscheid, the Stadtsparkasse Passau, the United Sparkasse in the Griesbach district and, from July 1975, the Kreissparkasse Vilshofen. The Sparkasse Passau has grown together over several intermediate stages from originally seven savings banks and one private bank. These savings banks were founded between 1825, 1840 and 1842.

The Bayerische Landesbank performs the function of the Sparkasse central bank .
