history
At the end of 1839, 38 citizens founded the savings bank association in Donaueschingen. In 1948 the Sparkasse Furtwangen was launched as the Black Forest Sparcassa company . Around six years later, the Sparkasse Villingen and Triberg was founded (as a savings, orphan and lending bank or as a savings company) and in 1895 the Sparkasse St. Georgen was founded as a savings and orphanage bank. In 1904 the Sparkasse Schwenningen was founded as a community bank. The Sparkasse Villigen took over the Spar- und Waisenkasse Vöhrenbach in 1933. Three years later, the Sparkasse Schonach was taken over by the Bezirkssparkasse Triberg. The district savings bank Villingen merged with Triberg in 1972. The Sparkasse Villingen then took over the Sparkasse Schwenningen in 1973. The merger of Sparkasse Villingen-Schwenningen with Sparkasse St. Georgen took place in 1991 and 2003 with Sparkasse Furtwangen. In 2005 the Sparkasse Villingen-Schwenningen merged with the Sparkasse Donaueschingen to form today's Sparkasse Schwarzwald-Baar.
