The Sparkasse Uelzen Lüchow-Dannenberg was created on January 1, 2006 from the merger of the Sparkasse Uelzen and the Kreissparkasse Lüchow-Dannenberg.

Former Sparkasse Uelzen

In 1839 the “Sparkasse der Stadt Uelzen” was founded. A few years later the name changed to "Stadtsparkasse Uelzen". In 1992 the “Stadtsparkasse Uelzen” merged with the “Kreissparkasse Uelzen” to form the “Sparkasse Uelzen”. The "Kreissparkasse Uelzen" was created in 1933 from the "Sparkasse für das Amt Oldenstadt" (founded in 1861) and the "Spar-, Leih- und Vorabschnitt-Casse d. Amt Medingen ”(founded 1864).

Former Kreissparkasse Lüchow-Dannenberg

In 1866 the "Kreissparkasse Dannenberg" was founded and in 1951 it was renamed "Kreissparkasse Lüchow-Dannenberg".
