history
Sparkasse Vogtland was created in 1996 through the merger of five Vogtland savings banks, as the guarantors of which the districts of Plauen, Oelsnitz , Klingenthal, Auerbach and Reichenbach were merged into the Vogtland district as part of a district reform. The city of Plauen is also the sponsor of the Sparkasse Vogtland through a special purpose association. The five predecessor institutions each came into being in 1952 as part of the reorganization of the savings banks in the GDR .
